Alro Slatina plans new natural gas power plant at Isalnita site – Aluminum Insider

Romanian aluminum company Alro SA (Alro Slatina) last week announced a new agreement with Complexul Energetic Oltenia (CEO) to invest in the construction of a natural gas plant at its Isalnita operations.

Under the agreement, Alro and CEO will form an SPV to build a new natural gas plant, which will have a power generation capacity of 850 MW. The new natural gas plant will replace existing coal-fired blocks, each producing 315 MW per year.

Alro President Marian NĂSTASE said in a press release that his company is eager to participate in this project, as it aligns with the company’s goals of keeping pace with the ever-changing realities of the world. aluminum market.
